Pay: $22.51/hr Benefits: Full Status: Full time
The White Earth Reservation Business Committee is currently seeking a qualified candidate who will be responsible for the Kinship Life Pathway Navigators are to provide individualized support to families enrolled in the WECARE program through formal assessments and the development of a family support plan. They will work with families to identify the strengths and needs, provide information, referral and follow-up, reinforce the use of skills learned in workshops, and serve as a navigator and support for families, White Earth Tribal Programming and other community agencies.
Position Outcomes:

Kinship Life Pathway Navigators duties.
• Recruit families with children ages 0-18 years old by utilizing the WECARE Universal Intake Form that identify financial, educational, employment &/or health need.
• Plan and coordinate monthly opportunities for families to build on their social network and enhance a sense of cultural connection.
• Communicate with families and programs to ensure goals are being accomplished.
• Develop and coordinate family support plans and team meetings with WEN Tribal programs and outside agencies.
• Monitoring family progress by compiling, reviewing and reporting data for reporting purposes.
• Comply with reporting standards regarding child abuse or neglect as a mandated report for safety of children.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of and the ability to follow and apply the policies and procedures of the White Earth Tribal Council and the Health Department
• Knowledge of the demographics, culture, customs, lifestyles and geography of the White Earth Reservation
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with families, co-workers, and representatives of other agencies
• Knowledge and ability to use a personal computer to prepare reports, maintain records, search for and compile data
• Ability to work independently and problem solve in the field
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions
• Ability to consistently demonstrate sound ethics and judgment
• Ability to display tact, emotional stability and patience while dealing with distressed individuals and to make immediate decisions in difficult and/or emergency situations
• Ability to comprehend, process and apply both verbal and written skills appropriate to the job
• Ability to accurately organize and maintain paper documents and electronic files
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
• Ability to use area resources effectively and efficiently

Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in a related field such as early childhood development, medical field, or human services or at least 3 years direct experience in providing services to individuals and families who face economic, educational, employment &/or health challenges.
• CPR certification and Community Health Worker or Peer Recovery Coach certification or willing to obtain after hire.
• Valid MN Driver’s License and insurance for travel between sites and other related businesses.
• Must be able to pass a Background and Drug screening.
