Pay: $41.57 Per Hr. or DOQ Benefits: Full Status: Full Time
The White Earth Reservation Business Committee is currently seeking a qualified applicant who will be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Indian Child Welfare department and management of Child Protection services in accordance with White Earth Tribal policies and procedures and current State and Federal standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern, as well as direct over site of the Indian Child Welfare personnel.
• Directs and oversees all aspects within the Indian Child Welfare
department to ensure program objectives are met and scope of work
completed.
• Supervises assigned staff to ensure internal policies and procedures are
followed.
• Trains new staff to become qualified expert witnesses over the course of
three years.
• Manages the departmental budget in accordance with established policies
and procedures to ensure the best use of program funds.
• Established and initiates short- and long-range goals and
recommendations affecting Indian Child Welfare, Adoptions, Foster Care
and Youth Intervention and Prevention programs to conform with Human
Service and White Earth objectives.
• Creates and completes reports for internal and funding sources.
• Communicate directly to the Judicial Service Director, Tribal Administration
and Tribal Council to ensure the program and organization is represented
in a professional manner.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of and ability to follow and apply the policies and procedures
of the White Earth Tribal Council and the Indian Child Welfare Department.
• Knowledge of the White Earth Traditional Child Rearing practices and what
is culturally acceptable or unacceptable among White Earth people in child
rearing.
• Ability to apply this cultural knowledge to a child protection agency.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a division and RBC, to ensure a high
quality of professional relationships and collaboration for White Earth
families.
• Ability to professionally represent ICW, White Earth RBC at Tribal, local,
state and federal meetings, committees and/or boards to make the work
of the group successful and effective.
• Skilled in leadership over a diverse group of people serving diverse
functions.
• Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the
financial markets and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and
personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting
quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Ability to train staff comprehensively to meet the needs of people.
• Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or
conclusions.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence and/or procedure
manuals.
• Skilled in Tribal Constituent service and the ability to interact with internal
and external Tribal Constituents with tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to be in good standing in the Indian Community.
• Knowledge of the White Earth Reservation demographics, culture, history,
and lifestyles.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services related field and five years of supervisory experience in Child Welfare programming.
• Valid Driver’s License and insurance for travel between sites and other related businesses.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
