Pay: $26.23/ hr. Benefits: Full Status: Full Time
The White Earth Reservation Business Committee is currently seeking a qualified applicant who will be responsible for promoting, maintaining and improving individual and community health by assisting in adopting healthy behaviors and a wellness lifestyle.
Position Outcomes:
• Collect data to assess community and individual health needs to determine program goals.
• Collaborate with health specialists and civic groups to determine needs, availability of services and develop programming goals to meet those needs.
• Collaborate and working in the field with Public Health Epidemiologist.
• Develop, conduct, and coordinate periodic health needs assessments and surveys as prescribed by Public Health Epidemiologist.
• Plan, Implement, Monitor, and evaluate programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies, and procedures.
• Develop and present health education and promotion programs such as training workshops, conferences and school and community presentations.
• Provide program information to the public by preparing and presenting press releases and conducting media campaigns.
• Provide guidance to agencies and organizations in the development and delivery of effective health education programs and services and foster good working relationships with them.
• Provide education and current information to policy makers in developing solid public health policies.
• Create and complete reports on health resources and media for staff and community agencies to use.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of and ability to follow and apply the policies and procedures of the White Earth Business Committee and Health department.
• Knowledge of the White Earth Reservation demographics, culture, history, and lifestyles.
• Knowledge of tribal and county health and social services programs.
• Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to promote healthy lifestyles and preventive health care.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a group to make the work of the group successful and effective.
• Ability to read and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
• Skilled in the operation of a personal computer and experience with health-related databases.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Sociology, Community Health, Health, or related field and/or and associate degree with four years of experience.
• CPR Certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
• Valid Driver’s License and insurance for travel between sites and other related businesses.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
