Public Law 102-477 Program

The 477 program is designed to assist adult and youth tribally enrolled members and descendants who are seeking employment or have recently obtained employment, and are low income, unemployed, or underemployed. The program offers you the opportunity to obtain job skills and to find and retain employment leading to self sufficiency.


Required components of the program may include:

     Assessments of interests and skills, reading and math levels

     Individual Employment Plans based on strengths

     Identification of a career path in your chosen career

Case Management and Resource Room access for help with:

     Job Readiness - gaining employment skills, National Career Readiness Certificate preparation and more.

     Job Search - access to internet and area online job opening listings, help in filling out applications, preparing resumes, etc.

     Job Placement - Youth Year-round Work Experience appointments. Soon to provide Adult Work Experience and On-the-job training.

     Supportive Services - for assistance related to employment plan which may include transportation expenses, job-related clothing and shoe requirements, employment-related training expenses and other assistance.
