White Earth Nation

Community Health Representative

The circular design for the Indian Community Health Representative program evolved from several concepts of the program. The outer circle of the triangles represents the various people, Tribes, agencies and resources -being brought together. The inner circle represents the council fire where problems facing the tribe are discussed and resolved. The Eagle feather represents several things. Several tribes traditionally present an eagle feather to an individual in recognition of achievement, honor, and respect. It represents Wisdom, courage, knowledge and understanding. The person accepts the responsibility by the eagle feather when he assumes the role of the CHR.
